Many people are led by scary stories in the media or
the sight of someone in a wheelchair to believe that being diagnosed with MS puts an
end to a good life. The author, Patricia Brine, has had MS for (now) 28 years, so has
first-hand experience with the condition. She also has known many people who have MS,
including those she interviewed for this book. These are all people whose lives
changed because of their MS, but whose ways of looking at life and dealing with
adversity are worth learning about.
Caregivers, people who have been recently diagnosed
with MS and are uncertain of their future, and friends and family of those who have MS
may find these stories of great assistance in giving them direction in their journey.
Others may just enjoy reading about people who have acquired wisdom from which we all
could benefit.

“The stories really helped me to put a face to MS.
Paul’s story was great! (Paul plays in the Edmonton Symphony) I now realize the
challenges that he has faced as he continues to make music.” ~ Bob Robertson,
Edmonton, Alberta
“They are such touching stories.” ~ Edith Rojas,
Buffalo, New York
"This book is amazing. I read it from start to
finish last night. Very upbeat and informative, but also - the fact that it contains
stories about real people that I know made it that much more interesting." ~ Ruth
Krahn, writer and singer
